16lb 4oz Mirror Carp & 13lb 8oz Catfish

Steven May this week dedicated his 16lb 4oz Fully Scaled Mirror to Nick in credit of all the help and advise he had given him in his search for a fish on Thompson's Pool. Searching around the Double Bay swim Steven finally got his reward with this beauty and also got his treasured Catfish from 'The Point' swim of The Old Carp Lake with an impressive Squid Rig.

The Fully Scaled Mirror from Thompson's Pool was caught using a 15mm Frozen Cotswold Bait UFO boilie whilst the Catfish from The Old Carp Lake was caught by using a 30lb Catfish hooklength combined with a Size 6 hook with Calamari Squid threaded onto the hair rig but using Cork balls as well to pop the entire rig up and this certainly did the trick! Calamari Squid is a fantastic natural and healthy bait for Catfish and can be fed loosely as well, where as Halibut Pellets should only be used as a hookbait with no loose fed as the oil content can be damaging for both Catfish and Carp!
