As a competitor to the Shimano 10000 XTEA Carp Baitrunner Reel, the Fox Stratos has high expectations to match up to but does respond with stiff opposition. With 16 ball bearings, the Fox Stratos enables effortless castng and the slow oscillation does produce superb linelay of which Fox claim that the Stratos 10000 cannot be surpassed for.

The superb linelay allows for pleasurable casting and the reel offers a great power to angling especially with the twin handle and the spool action for playing fish is tremendous. Shop supervisor Nick Slater even claims that the Stratos 'seems to have a mind of its own' when it comes to fish playing action, with the spool doing all of the hard work.
