Llyn y gors fishery has been voted the "Top Coarse Fishery" for National Fishing Week.

Llyn y gors has been recognised for its efforts in promoting angling to experienced anglers and newcomers alike, with particular attention paid to juniors coming into the sport.  Owner Roger Thompson was presented with a David Hughes bronze carving by Mr Ted Heathcote-Walker after he and his staff took time out from their usual duties to give extra tuition and help youngsters in order to get them catching and enjoying it from day one.  Mr Thompson said "we haven't been resting on our laurels since receiving the honour, we intend to win the award again this year, we are organising junior matches every Wednesday during the Summer Holidays and any juniors interested in coming along are more than welcome, junior tickets are normally £5.00 but kids will be able to fish for free and will also receive free groundbait on these dates.
