28lb Catfish

Joe Chambers fished Thompson's Pool in search of one of the big catfish and was made up when he landed the smaller of the two, but still a whacking fish weighing 28 lb. Joe fished the "Barbecue" swim on 21mm halibut pellets.

The Old Carp Lake has been prolific over the past few weeks and continues to do so during this hot weather. Local youngster Dan Congrave caught six fish during a 48 hour session. His fish included a 11 lb 8 oz mirror and the biggest of the session a 13 lb mirror. Dan fished the "Volcano" swim, Nash Formula Fish his chosen bait. Stuart Whittaker managed a hat-trick of fish during a short evening session. Stuart had fish of 9 lb, and two 8 lb mirrors all on Elite Baits Christmas Cracker.
