Winners: Gary Risley & Paul Brunton

Gary Risley and Paul Brunton are the latest pair to qualify for the Wales Carp Masters Final. It was heat 3 this weekend on the Karpium and Gary and Paul finished in 1st place with an excellent 120 lb 6 oz. Paul landed six fish, a mixture of commons and mirrors whilst gary weighed in with four mirrors to 15 lb 2 oz. Paul caught the biggest of the session which was a 16 lb 3 oz mirror and also managed a simmo/common which weighed over 7 lb but was an amazing looking fish. Both anglers are now looking forward to the final and the chance of pocketing over £10,000 of prize money.

The match had started differently as youngsters Adam Owen and Ryan Yates were the first to have fish on the bank. Adam caught a 10 lb 6 oz mirror and Ryan weighed in a with another mirror of 14 lb 7 oz, both anglers lost a couple of fish which would of certainly made things more interesting but in the end had to settle for 2nd place. Nick Slater and Mark Davidson took 3rd place followed closely by Phil Biggs and Teresa Stevens. Well done to all anglers who took part.
