The Karpium is the brand new lake built at Llyn Y Gors and has matured into a fantastic scenic lake since its creation. The 153 fish to 21lb that have already been stocked in there till November 2007 have absolutely thrived in there putting on masses of weight, feeding extremely well and also breeding extremely successfully.

 

The fish entered as virgin fish and have responded positively to angling sessions and still remain being caught on sessions. The lake is also far deeper than any other lake at Llyn Y Gors with depths up to 14 foot allowing the fish to patrol wherever they want as well as giving an excellent fight when hooked. Many anglers have also commented how the Simmos seem to fight as if 'they were on steriods' with a seriously hard fight to land.

 

The large depths really will allow the fish to grow tremendously and with the addition of 35 fish between 18-23lb in November 2007 as well as the 5 fish between 26lb-30lb in January will make this lake a force to be recognised with in the future. Watch this space for the lake becoming one of the best in the country.

 

The record carp on The Karpium is currently a 20lb 12oz Mirror Carp caught by Joe Newby
