The O'Neill family had another
fantastic week at Llyn Y Gors with an amazing 2012 lb of fish caught.
Father Steve and son David were joined by friends Liam Gerrard, Carl Lewis
and Scott Burrows all catching on both pleasure and match lakes. David
O'Neill caught over 100 lb each day on the pleasure lake and also set
a new record catch with over 230 lb of fish, a record which unfortunately
did not last long. Scott Burrows fancied his chances a breaking David's
record and was catching carp between 4 - 6 lb during an action packed
morning. Scott Set up around 9 am and finished at 5 pm with a massive
274 lb of carp. This smashed the record previously set by Wirral angler
Phil Ashdown. Other weights for Scott included bags of 170 lb, 190 lb
and also 140 lb. Determined not to be outdone David even tried to break
Scott's record and unfortunately finished only 8 lb short with 266 lb.
Liam Gerrard had nets over 100 lb on the match lake and Carl Lewis' largest
weight was around 120 lb also on the match lake. All five anglers fished
pole with pellet up in the water proving the most succesful bait.
