Just to say thanks for a great holiday staying in dillydally and dappledown. Fishing was great as expected, even better than last year, and what a great job you've done on all the waters,clearing trees and thinning the lillies back. Plenty of carp coming out on all the waters and all in great condition. Jake and i both caught our first ever barbel on the match lake , my personal best common carp at 13lb 14oz and a lovely catfish at 20lb 12oz both caught on the backs peg of the old carp lake. pictures of the common carp and catfish and a lovely 10lb 8oz carp jake caught along with three others on floating bread on the new bay. Thanks again

Other Lake Captures

Old Carp Lake - Good captures in the cold weather anglers have been catching upto 6-7 fish in a 24hr session. Little and often feeding tactics have been the winning formula. Mainline Cell is once again the top bait, this being fished over with a white pop up , chod style . Also finding the fish before or keeping mobile is a winning tactic.

Match & Pleaure Lakes - Bags of upto 40lb-50lb have been common recently , with pellet,bread and corn &meat being the baits to get on. Also fishing little and often basis seems to be the main tactic as with the other lakes.

Caught at 4am from the double bay left hand in freezing conditions using a stiff hinged rig with nash twister size 10 and a 12mm white coconut and bannana pop up over 10 crushed up white chocalate bottom baits.

17lb caught from the Old Carp Lake off 'The Backs' swim on a Winter session. Lewis fished trimmed down, critcally balanced Sticky Baits pop ups cast to the channel. The 48 hour session consisted of 6 other takes resulting in 3 other mid-doubles and two lost fish. Lewis Orme, aged 16, from Southport.

Nick landed this magnificent Common Carp from 'The Well' swim of Thompson's Pool. Nick scattered 15mm Mainline The Cell boilies across the swim, fishing his hookbait over the top off the boilies and a Dynamite Baits stick mix.

Thompson's Pool Carp record holder, Anthony Davies (35lb 2oz Mirror - May 2004) landed a superb treble during a session on Thompson's Pool. Fishing using Carp Baits Services Entice boilies, Anthony had three fish including this gorgeous Ghost Carp weighing in at 23lb 6oz.
