This week has been a sensation one with an abundance of fish caught on both Thompson's Pool and the Old Carp Lake. The pick of the week has to be Gareth Bannister who landed twenty carp up to 17lb as well as two catfish to 21lb during a week long session. Nick Slater also helped himself to three Mirror Carp up to 29lb on Thompson's Pool whilst the Catfish have been producing on both specimen lakes.

Sparsholt Students Adam Greenwood and Jamie Foster, currently on work experience at Llyn Y Gors, enjoyed some great fishing sessions out of working hours whilst across on Thompson's Pool Charles Taylor caught his personal best of a 30lb 8oz Mirror Carp along with Ian Jones who netted a 22lb 8oz Mirror Carp during his 48 hour session.

The Karpium opened this week for an exclusive angling session prior to the Wales Carp Masters being held in two weeks time. A total of 91 Carp were caught totalling a massive 1365lb during a period of 48 hours!! Martin and Lee Thomas were amongst the capturers along with Dave Rutledge who caught the current record of 18lb 12oz. The Karpium will be open again for the Wales Carp Masters 2007 which will be shown on Sky TV before 135 fish to 30 lb are stocked prior to the official opening in March 2008.

Joe Newby had a fantastic fishing session this week at Llyn Y Gors catching his personal best of a 20lb Mirror Carp on The Karpium before breacking his personal best again on Thompson's Pool with a 24lb Mirror Carp. Charlie Taylor also enjoyed catching his personal best on the lake with his first 30lb Mirror Carp as well as Marc Ward netting a fine 22lb Mirror Carp. On The Old Carp Lake a 15lb Common Carp was caught after a 20 minute battle on a light elastic pole when fishing for small silvers to round off some great fishing for this week.
