Daffy enjoyed the rewards of his cold Winter fishing as he banked his personal best Carp on Thompson's Pool with a cracking 25lb Mirror Carp. Daffy banked the stunning fish using a Semi fixed rig on Llyn Y Gors L1 boilies on the 'Nightmare' swim. Plenty of Pike have also been landed weighing up to 11lb with John Wilson the victor of the biggest Pike of the week amongst around 15 being caught.Along with this predator angling, a surprise catch was also netted this week in spectacular fashion. Glyn Carmody managed to catch a massive 5lb 8oz Eel using a standard pop up designed for Carp and he was delighted with the specimen fish.

Mark Drennan's dedication to The Old Carp Lake certainly paid dividends this week as he landed four fish up to 8lb to make up the numbers. Nick Slater as ever continued his fishing success on the lake with another 6 fish up to 11lb being caught from 'The Door' using glugged Richworth KG1 15mm boilies.

Llyn Y Gors welcomed yet another batch of new stockings this week with 100 Carp from Mark Simmonds arriving for The Karpium as well as The Old Carp Lake. 60 Fish between 8lb to 12lb went into The Karpium to boost the already thriving atmosphere the lake is producing prior to the opening while the other 40 Mirror Carp went into The Old Carp Lake. Putting the tally of fish in The Karpium up to a whopping 236 fish weighing up to 28lb with 14 more arriving in January 2008, The Karpium is certainly going to be a hectic lake come the opening in March 2008. Meanwhile the predator angling is continuing to boom this week with a further 11 Pike to 10lb being landed whilst a few have escaped at the net as well!

Nick managed to bank yet another fish this week on The Old Carp Lake with a lovely 15lb 1oz Common Carp. Nick used a semi-fixed rig on 'The Door' swim using glugged Richworth KG1 boilies over PVA bags. Mark Drennan continued a good run of form on The Old Carp Lake this week as he banked this fantastic 12lb Pike. Mark lured the Pike using deadbait Lamprey and then being a good angler, proceeded to remove the rigs the Pike was trailing. Mark also continued his fishing sessions banking a 10lb Pike whilst Nick caught another fish; a Ghost Carp weighing in at 10lb.
