REED LAKE
Reed Lake is the new specialist lake at Llyn Y
Gors with species such as Chub, Ide, Roach, Perch, Bream, Tench and
Crucian Carp. Over 5,000 fish have been stocked into the lake with
the biggest fish being the Tench with some of them weighing over7lb.
Crucians over 2lb have been banked in 2010. The majority of the fish
are also virgin fish having been previously bred on in our stock lakes
at Llyn Y Gors of from our suppliers where they have been kept in
unfished estate lakes. This is the reason for their superb condition
and these fish will grow on enormously in the deep waters of Reed
Lake.
Reed Lake was formed from the lake The Karpium
which was divided into two different lakes. The Left side of the lake
was filled with specialist fish and all of the specimen Carp were
moved to the Right side of the lake which remains known as The Karpium.
Reed Lake is quite a deep water with areas as deep as 14ft. On average
the lake bed is 7-8ft deep but during hot weather a lot of anglers
have been catching regularly using very shallow hooklengths with the
fish in the upper regions of the water. With this superb mixture of
fish, combined with the deep water fuelled by natural springs and
high quality bait being used in the lake, it is inevitable that this
lake will grow from strength to strength and become an angler's favourite
due to the high quality Tench and other specialist species.
