Wirral angler Joe Newby caught his first catfish during a 72 hour session on Thompson's Pool, an absolutely stunning 32 lb 11 oz specimen, a new venue record. Joe up to that point had been frustrated, losing a large upper 20 inches from the net. It was all soon forgotten as Joe netted his first 30!! caught on MB Baits Black Extract boilies topped with a piece of pink imitation corn. Ian Fisher had a successful bank holiday weekend landing a 19 lb 2 oz common on Nash Whisky boilies.
