THOMPSON'S POOL

THE NEW CARP LAKE AT LLYN Y GORS
WHERE FISHING DREAMS COME TRUE

Now in its third year Thompson's Pool has now matured into a beautifully secluded landscape full of wildlife since its opening on the 1st of  May 2002. It holds over 35 carp - mostly in the 20 lb to 35 lb range - and 2 cats at 24lb and 29lb 8 oz! But because these fish have a whole 2 and a half acres to themselves and the lake is rich in all sorts of natural food, it is estimated that we will soon be seeing forty pounders, especially since some of the fish are only 4 to 5 years and are a fast-growing strain. There are only eight swims on the lake, and only two rods per angler. Swims can be booked for 24 hour sessions (sunday to thursday only) for £25, and you can now buy a weekly ticket ( 7 x 24 hours) for only £125. This also applies to residents in the Cottages and on the Camp Site - swims have to be booked separately in advance and are not included in the fishing/restocking fee.

The record carp on Thompson's Pool is currently a 35lb Mirror caught by Anthony Davies. Anthony fished the "Double Bay" swim.

The record for a catfish on Thompson's Pool is currently 29lb 8 oz and is held by Mr Porter

The lake has only 8 swims and is set over approx 1.5 acres. The above photo was taken over the "Broken Track" swim which is in the bottom right of the picture. Below is a picture of each swim as seen by the angler.

Barbecues are also placed around various swims. Please refrain from using the disposable barbecues as they are a fire hazard!! Charcoal and Fire Lighters etc are available from the tackle shop. Burgers,sausages etc are also available so you don't get hungry!!
