THE PLEASURE LAKE AT LLYN Y GORS
WHERE FISHING DREAMS COME TRUE

Here is a shot of the Pleasure Lake on an overcast summers day!! The top of the Snowdonia mountain range is just inview above the trees in the background!!!

Llyn y gors was one of the first coarse fisheries in the country to introduce ghost carp into a mixed fishery - over ten years ago - with amazing results.  The fish feed like mad, and also fight like mad.  Growth rates have been phenomenal, so if you want good sport, come and fish the Pleasure Lake at Llyn y gors.  But the ghosties don't have it all their own way. The lake is also stacked out with roach, rudd, tench, golden orfe, bream and perch (the record stands at over 3 lb and was caught in September 2005), as well as crucian carp.  Most methods work - pole, whip, feeder - maggot, corn, luncheon meat, method mix - take your pick.  Staff and regulars will always give a few tips on what's working at the moment.

And the surroundings couldn't be better.  Right next to the Camping Field (numbers are strictly limited and all campers are anglers anyway) with superb views of the Snowdonia range - mountains which seem different every time you look at them.

Scott Burrows

The current lake record is held by Scott Burrows with a massive 274 lb.

David O'Neill

David O'Neill also caught a net over 230 lb during his session alongside Scott. It was an action packed weekend for all anglers. Do you want to be next to break our lake record?.

Bags of 60 lb to 100 lb are common. Local schoolboy Lee Roberts (above right) from Llangefni showed the adults how to do it with this 92 lb 8 oz bag. Below are just a few of the large bags caught on the lake.

A day ticket on the Pleasure Lake costs £11.00 for adults and £6.00 for juniors.  Fresh maggots and any tackle required are available from our on-site tackle shop. Barbed hooks are banned, and only  branded pellets (ringers, dynamite etc) or pellets purchased in the shop are allowed - see our rules page.  Booking is advisable in the main holiday season, as we never let the lakes get overcrowded and preference is always given to residents in the self-catering cottages and anglers camping on site.
