Local angler Tim Jones had his best ever session on the Match Lake with well over 100 lb of fish. Tim fished his new Drennan Polemaster 13.5 m pole and caught carp, tench, barbel and bream on a worm and caster hookbait.

Wirral angler Joe Newby caught his first catfish during a 72 hour session on Thompson's Pool, an absolutely stunning 32 lb 11 oz specimen, a new venue record.

Martin Newby - Sunday 3rd September | ||

Martin Newby was not going to let his son Joe catch all the limelight this past week and landed himself a 21 lb 4 oz mirror (known as Broken Tail). It is another personal best for the Newby family (after Joe's cracking catfish last week).
