Llyn Y Gors held the third heat of The Wales Carp Masters 2007 this week on the new lake 'The Karpium' due to open in March 2008. After a fiercely contested competition Gary Risley and Paul Brunton triumphed with a winning weight of 120lb 6oz. Elsewhere Barrie Thomas and Neil Golden had fantastic angling sessions on Thompson's Pool banking 28lb Mirror and 24 Mirror Carps respectively. The Match Lake also produced consistently with Eric Wright having 50lb+ bags almost every day with the biggest around 90lb.

New Lake records were in abundance this week as four lads from Liverpool caused chaos on the Pleasure and Match Lakes with some top class angling. David O'Neill, Scott Burrows and Karl Lewis continuously produced 100lb+ match bags whilst Liam who has only recently begun fishing continued to bag 40-50lb nets. After breaking the record three times between them, the venue record and lake record of The Pleasure Lake now stands at a whopping 272lb!

Ian Smith had a superb session on Thompson's Pool this week with a stonking 30lb Mirror Carp and Andy Hood also continued the specimen fishing trend as he banked a fantastic 28lb Mirror Carp to add to his tally of success. Meanwhile Stevie fished The Old Carp Lake with his dad for a short day session and tiumphed as he banked a gorgeous 7lb Common Carp.

Heat 4 of The Wales Carp Masters 2007 finished this week with another fantastic session with Martin and Joe Newby the victors with a very good weight of 90lb worth of Carp. Martin and Joe fished pva bags of crushed pellet and Llyn Y Gors L1 boilies and even caught a fish at the very death of the competition but congratulations to the other pairs who kept the heat very competitive indeed. Elsewhere Nick Slater banked a gorgeous 18lb fully scaled Mirror Carp to add to his ever growing success on Thompson's Pool.

Matt Lea did extremely well on Thompson's Pool this week as he banked his personal best with this fantastic 18lb Mirror Carp. Specimen fishing continued to excel this week with Bob Ward catching a 28lb Mirror Carp and Joe Newby also weighing in a 19lb Mirror Carp whilst during another taster session on The Karpium Lee Thomas banked 4 fish with the heaviest 13lb 9oz.
