The History of Llyn Y Gors
Llyn Y Gors has a vast depth of history surrounding the site. Many years ago the site was a tea room which soon developed into only having one fishing pond. Alec Friar who owned the site 20 years ago still regularly visits the site whilst walking his dog.
Roger Thompson bought Llyn Y Gors in 1989 and expanded the fishing capabilities of the site by extending 'The Old Carp Lake' and leaving his legacy in the form of the carp lake called 'Thompsons Pool'.

After selling the business to Kevin and Karen Coe in May 2004, Roger left the country to set up a Marlin fishing boat and hotel service in New Zealand.
The week Kevin Coe and his family took over was an extraordinary one with the first 30lb + Carp ever to be caught on site. In fact 3 Mirror Carp all over 30lb, including the site record 35lb 2oz, were caught in that very week!

Kevin Coe has made his own progress on the Llyn Y Gors site with numerous fish stockings to the Old Carp Lake, Thompsons , the Pleasure Lake & the Match Lake. Two new lakes have been added by Kevin, The Karpium with some 300 Carp to 20lb+ and Reed Lake , a "Silverfish Only" ie no carp stocked with Bream, Roach , Ide, Chub, Perch and Tench. The Tench were stocked up to 7lb (post spawning) so we look forward to seeing tench caught in the 9-10lb region.. In addition to this a new and bigger tackle shop has been built along with the warehouse housing bulk stocks for The Fishing Warehouse. Llyn Y Gors has now been rated as one of the top ten fisheries in the UK and is growing all of the time. After having produced a 35lb 2oz Mirror Carp two years ago, a 40lb Mirror Carp should be soon to follow whilst a record bag of 204lb is held on the match lake.
Unfortunately Kevin Coe sadly passed away in November 2012 from a undetected heart aneurysm it was very sudden, and to follow this Karen Coe his wife who had bravely battled breast cancer for many years passed away in May 2013. Kevin Coe's son has now taken over to continue the fantastic fishery (Jason Coe and his wife Gemma Coe) with their two girls Summer and Courtney.
